Coates Field Service seeks a full-time project-based accountant to provide accounting support to our Project Accounting Group. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and a motivated “can-do” attitude to support our operations team in our Oklahoma City Corporate Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various project budget and forecast preparation
  • Conduct research to assist resolution (or properly referring) of accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Verifies and reconciles employee expense reports
  • Assists in preparation and verification of client invoices
  • Maintains records and files associated with various business transactions, including the filing of general ledger journal vouchers, accounts payable documentation, and other miscellaneous filings
  • Updates a variety of documents, reports, and records. Enters financial data into appropriate accounting and computer systems
  • Processes and verifies invoices, bank deposits, journal entries, and accounting reports according to GAAP standards and guidelines to include those established by Coates Field Service
  • May perform back-up duties for other positions within the work group
  • Responsible for additional clerical duties, to include; serving as primary back up and support to the Administrative Assistant, document filing, scanning, and other administrative duties as requested

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of payment processing and receipt processing procedures
  • Skill in using computer and application software for financial transactions
  • Skill in using common office machinery and equipment
  • Skill in mathematical computations used in accounting
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Required Computer Skills:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics Great Plains accounting software is preferred
